Get Your Garden Summer Ready!

Spring is our favourite time of year here at CGM Solutions.

We love the excitement of starting to think about getting your garden ready for the warmer months ahead, and family days in the garden. Whether you're an experienced gardener or just starting out, there are a few steps you can take to ensure your garden is in tip-top shape for a summer of al-fresco entertaining!

1.Clear out debris and weeds

Before you can get started on any planting, it's important to clear out any debris or weeds that have accumulated in your garden over the winter months. This will help to create a clean slate for your new plants and prevent any diseases from spreading.

2. Prep the soil

Once you've cleared out any debris or weeds, it's time to prep the soil for planting. This can involve adding compost or other organic matter to enrich the soil and provide your plants with the nutrients they need to grow strong and healthy.

3. Choose your plants

When selecting plants for your summer garden, it's important to consider the specific needs of each plant. Some plants may require more sun or shade than others, for example, so make sure to do your research before making any purchases.

4. Plant and water

Once you've chosen your plants, it's time to get them into the ground! Be sure to follow the planting instructions for each plant, including the recommended spacing and depth. After planting, give your plants a good watering to help them settle in and get established.

5. Maintenance

To keep your garden looking its best throughout the summer, it's important to keep up with regular maintenance tasks such as weeding, pruning, and fertilizing. Regular watering is also essential, especially during hot and dry spells.

By following these simple steps, you can help ensure that your garden is ready to thrive throughout the summer months. Happy gardening!

Remember that the garden is an extension of your home and the perfect place to create more space when the house is feeling at capacity. Garden buildings, rooms, summerhouses, and sheds create valuable extra space, with no planning permission needed.
